The planter chair is a traditional chair introduced in colonial India. They are low, reclining easy chairs with an inclined seat and arms that fold in and out. These arms extend out to form the leg rests. They have a cane weaving (wicker work) which not only took the contours of the user’s body but also made it comfortable to sit in, providing ample ventilation. The design of the Planter’s chair is about generosity of space and comfort, achieved with swooping and simple curves. It is large, streamlined and majestic. As comfortable as it is handsome, this is an exotic work of furniture art at its best. These chairs were exclusively made for the British, Dutch or Portuguese landlords of the tea plantations. This piece is manufactured in Burma teak using traditional mortise and tenon joints which make them sturdy and durable. The addition of this exquisite chair will give your home an elegant and aesthetic look.
