Rishabarudar is a form of Lord Shiva in which he can be seen seated on his divine vehicle, Lord Nandikeswara or Nandi along with his consort Ma Parvati. This form can be seen in the top of most of the Shiva Temples, and the image of Lord Shiva and Parvati would be engraved in the sculptures. This form is taken by Lord Shiva in order to show the significance of his gate keeper and divine vehicle, Lord Nandikeswarar.
Shiva has many aspects, benevolent as well as fearsome. In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash as well as a householder with his wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya.
This is a handcrafted wooden wall panel depicting lord Shiv and goddess Parvati sitting together on Nandi and hand painted with resplendent colours.
