ABOUT TANJORE PAINTINGS
Tanjore paintings are classical south Indian painting style, that originated from Tanjore in Tamil Nadu back in the 17th century. These paintings are characterized by their rich and vivid colors, simple iconic composition, glittering gold foils overlaid on delicate but extensive gesso work and inlay of glass beads and pieces or very rarely precious and semi-precious gems. They essentially symbolize ancient themes of traditional gods and goddesses.
DESCRIPTION
This divine trio consists of Lakshmi, Ganesha, and Sarasvati, arranged in a harmonious composition. The two seated deities, Lakshmi and Sarasvati, are depicted on a pink and a white lotus, respectively, while Ganesha sits on a throne adorned with gold, rubies, and velvet upholstery. On one side stands the majestic figure of Venkateshvara, while on the other stands Karthikeya. This group of five divine beings, with a mix of seated and standing poses, is beautifully presented in a solid teak wood frame. Perfect for display in a prayer room or a business establishment, this exquisite painting exudes an air of luxury and elegance.
